• Ashley Foreign Studies & Travel Award

  This award supports one or more students and/or faculty traveling to a foreign country for Intensive or other academic purposes. The recipient is selected by the Intensive committee and Business Office by October each year.

• Baby Lolita Taylor Scholarship

  This scholarship is designed to support students of financial need. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and provide a statement on academic goals, dreams, and aspirations. Preference is given to students from single-parent households.

• Cadigan Fund for Advancement

  A fund used at the discretion of the Head of School to supplement his/her advancement efforts. "Advancement efforts" is defined loosely as those activities which relate to recruiting students, money, or goodwill for MVCDS.

• Colleen Sieberg Memorial Scholarship

  This scholarship is in memory of Colleen Sieberg who was an integral part of the Maumee Valley community for 40 years. From writing and orchestrating countless concerts and productions to cheering on our athletes from the sidelines, Colleen inspired children to find and embrace their passions. Colleen loved teaching, loved her students, and left her mark on Maumee Valley in so many ways. 
  
  The purpose of this scholarship is to attract an individual in financial need with musical talent who could contribute to and grow from the music programs in place at MVCDS, with preference given to the string ensemble.

• Dayal Center for Academic Excellence

  This fund was created to support the Dayal Center for Academic Excellence at MVCDS by providing support for Middle and Upper School students to help them reach their academic and personal potential.

• Dorothy Jabarin Scholarship

  This scholarship honors a long-serving math and technology teacher. The scholarship is awarded to an incoming student with an interest in math or science with financial need.

• Dream Odyssey (Wolfe Family Foundation)

  EE Ford Foundation/Mahaffey
  This grant is awarded annually to enable staff/faculty who have been at MVCDS at least five years to apply for a culturally enriching journey. Eligible staff/faculty prepare a proposal describing their "dream" for the committee to review and choose the awardees. The committee is comprised of one member of the Advancement Team, Lower, Middle, and Upper School heads, and the previous year's winner(s). The awardees are announced at the MVCDS Faculty/Staff Holiday Gathering each year.

• Erie Chapman Foundation Renaissance Student Award

  This is a merit award to a rising junior or senior at MVCDS who exemplifies extraordinary passion and accomplishment across a range of diverse fields, including the arts and social justice, modeled after the life of Leonardo da Vinci. The purpose is to encourage and recognize multi-talented students who specialize in more than one field of study.

• Georgia Welles Head of School Chair

  This Chair was established in recognition of Georgia's outstanding and continuous leadership over several decades at MVCDS. Georgia Welles served both as Head of School in 1974, as President of the Board of Trustees (1973-1976), and has been a member of the Endowment Board of Trustees since 1976. The income from this fund is designated to fund the leadership role of the Head of School.

• Hubert Rodney Boldon ‘71 Memorial Scholarship Fund

  A tribute to MVCDS alumnus, Rodney Boldon, this scholarship is awarded annually to an incoming or current Freshman of financial need with academic potential who best exemplifies Rod's quality of leadership in school activities. The Committee is comprised of the Chair of the Scholarship Committee, Director of Admission, President of Student Council, Faculty Representative, and Head of School. The scholarship is awarded at the annual Upper School awards ceremony prior to graduation.

• James M. Reed Community Scholar

  This renewable scholarship supports an incoming Middle or Upper School student who is a minority of financial need.

• Jenny Rheinfrank Barthold 1957 Scholarship

  This renewable scholarship supports an incoming student with an interest in English, of financial need; Upper School student preferred.

• Jonathan Krueger '12 Winterim Scholarship

  This scholarship was established in memory of Jonathan Krueger '12 to be awarded to Upper School students to explore their passions, hopes, and dreams through their Intensives experiences.

• Kasperzak Chair in Drama

  This fund was established in memory of Ronald M. Kasperzak, trustee of MVCDS from 1971-1974 to support MVCDS drama and the theatre program.

• Kaye Louise Salverda Scholarship

  This scholarship supports an incoming Upper School student who demonstrates leadership skills, is engaged in service to the larger community, and contributes to the vitality of Maumee Valley.

• Michael Doherty Scholarship Fund

  A memorial to Michael Doherty, a 7th-grade student, who died in 1980. A merit scholarship awarded to a member of the 8th-grade class who exhibits "qualities that relate to persistence, love of the outdoors, and silent strength." No prerequisites. Committee of Head of School, Head of Lower School, Advanced Group staff, and discussed with Doherty family before the announcement and given at 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony at the end of the school year.

• Paul Block Jr. Chair of Chemistry

  This fund was established in memory of Paul Block, Jr. because of his interest in and work in chemistry. This fund supports the Upper School science efforts.

• Richard Nuzum Memorial Scholarship

  This will be an endowed fund that provides annual income toward the tuition of a junior or senior who possesses the qualities of character and scholarship that were so important to Coach Nuzum. These include leadership, commitment, accountability, strong work ethic, perseverance, confidence, and scholarship.

• Robert T. Sullwold Award

  This renewable award is restricted to an Incoming student from a primary or secondary Toledo Public School who demonstrates financial need.

• Smead School for Girls Scholarship

  This renewable scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman female of financial need.

• Sonny and Laila Ariss Scholarship

  This renewable merit scholarship is directed to an Upper School student; with an interest in math and science of financial need. A minimum GPA of 3.3 must be maintained for renewal.

• Stranahan Scholarship Fund

  This fund provides financial aid for students in 1st through 6th grades. Scholarships are based on need and automatically renewed through 6th grade as long as the student remains in good standing.

• Virginia Secor Stranahan Chair in Humanities

  This Chair is awarded to a humanities faculty member once every three years. The funds provide recipients with one of the following benefits: a.) Leave at full pay and benefits for a Sept-Dec or Feb-June period in 2nd or 3rd year of tenure, $5,000 stipend, cost of the substitute teacher paid by the School; estimated max. expense of $10,000, or b.) Stipend of $7,500 for up to 3 summers of special projects; eligible only in the second summer after selection.

• Willis Stork Memorial Scholarship Fund

  This scholarship honors the memory of Willis Stork, Headmaster of MVCDS, from 1938 to 1955. It is funded by gifts made in his memory. It provides financial aid to support racial and ethnic diversity.
